Emma is a reportage wedding photographer in Ripon, Richmond, Thirsk, Middlesbrough, Yarm, Newcastle, Darlington, County Durham and throughout the Northeast. Emma doesn't try to take over the show, youare the stars and you've put in all the planning so things will run smoothly without her having to direct you! However, she will take charge during the time for traditional formal group photos - it is important that guests know what is going on, and one of Emma's pet peeves as a wedding guest is having to wait too long during the formal photos.

Wedding photography, how did it all start. In 1967 i borrowed a camera from my father, and not many days since then i have not been without my camera. I have been a keen photographer since picking up my first Olympus SLR to go to the Isle of Man TT in the early 1980,s Learning to photograph fast moving objects was a good grounding for what wouldcome later. Pre judging movement and anticipating action is a very important part of successful photography. It doesn't just happen it is a skill to be learnt and it is one that is used regularly at Weddings.
I love photographing weddings. For a long time now I've realised that I'm good at telling visual stories, essentially I'm a people watcher. Weddings are crammed full of narratives, jokes, emotion, beauty, drama and laughter. Each wedding is totally different, despite all the planning and organising, the event itself is quite unpredictable. My job is to capture this story from start to finish, the ceremony, the characters, the details, the tears, the quirkiness, the humour and the love.
Born in the north east of England, I now live between Hartlepool and London. I work full time for a stone supply company CED Ltd, a job and career I enjoy. Photography became a hobby in 2011 and isnow a passion which I cram into weekends. I'm lucky to have met some great people thanks to photography, some of which have become good friends, always adding to the journey with advice and comments. Contrary to the picture above, I do like to smile and laugh a lot. I like to "shoot".
