About the Business

It’s funny how things turn out. I never really planned to be a documentary wedding photographer, in fact, before I started shooting weddings, I couldn’t have done anything further away from the joy and fun of a wedding day as I’d spent 10 years as a Police Officer. Body armour, batons, blue lights, the lot.

It was getting married myself to my awesome wife Laura that changed everything for me. Sat around the pool on our honeymoon I decided that I wanted to get back into doing something creative and fun.. It was time to hang up my body armour and become a documentary wedding photographer.

Jumping into wedding photography felt very natural. I love photography. I love weddings. My first experience of a wedding was a somewhat crazy introduction as it was being filmed for BBC three’s don’t tell the bride. A space themed wedding, 10 strong camera crew, a bride who was two hours (yes two hours) late for the service and a 16 hour wedding day. But I loved every single minute of it and that was it, I was in and there was no turning back.

I now find myself working as a documentary wedding photographer in some amazing venues all over the uk. I’ve been a regional finalist in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 wedding industry awards for best wedding photographer and i was a finalist in the 2014 professional photographer magazines wedding photograph of the year.

My photos have featured in glossy wedding magazines such as bride and pure wedding magazine and my weddings regularly appear in some of the leading wedding blogs such as brides up north, rock ‘n’ roll bride, the English wedding blog and wedding photography select. I am also a member of fearless photographers, a directory of the best wedding photographers around the world.
