About the Business
I'm Michael and I'm a documentary wedding photographer based in West Sussex near Brighton in the south of England. Ever since a friend lent me an old film camera at the age of 17, and introduced me to the pictures of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Doisneau and Elliott Erwitt, I've been hooked on photography. After 12 years as a journalist I was lucky enough to become the editor of a professional photography magazine and website for Canon, the world's biggest camera company.
I spent five years interviewing some of the best photographers in the world, and that got me thinking about taking my own photography more seriously. I finally decided to take the plunge and leave my journalism job for a life 'behind the lens'. I found that being a documentary wedding photographer best suited my style. I love the magic of storytelling and the challenge of capturing the revealing, natural moments of big social events - and there's nothing bigger than two people publicly celebrating a lifetime of commitment.
