About the Business

It goes with the turf of being a reportage wedding photographer. Shooting in this candid documentary style means that you not only need an eye for a good photograph, but you also have to have a kind of social sensitivity. In other words, the ability to pick up on when people that you are photographing are aware of you, or even perhaps uncomfortable that there's a camera in the room.

Of course, all of this leads to photographs that show real moments of a wonderful day. So rather than forced grins and strained jaw muscles, you get to enjoy the day in the way you always hoped to, whilst I record it as it unfolds. I do hear of weddings where the photographer almost ‘took over', and I think that's a great shame. After all, your wedding day happens just once and what you're probably hoping for is an amazing day and pictures to remind you of it for the rest of your lives.
