I seek to capture those special, human moments: the unique looks, smiles and relationships that make us who we are - and to capture those moments for posterity; treasured moments that can be handeddown from one generation to the next. I generally use a mixture of reportage and formal shots; formal posed shots to capture details and groupings and then reportage shots to unobtrusively capture spontaneous moments, leaving people to relax and enjoy the day.

I have loved weddings since I went to my first at the age of 10, so it was a dream come true when I photographed my first wedding in 1992. Back then film was king, cameras were a lot heavier and livedon tripods which seemed even heavier. From the beginning my husband Mike assisted me by loading the film backs for my medium format camera to speed things up, there were only 12 frames on a roll of film so he was kept pretty busy!
I consider myself extremely lucky, because I am passionate about what I do. Whatever the job is, from fashion photography to an interior shoot, I always try my best to make it unique; to make it myown. I have a studio in my house. I work in there most days, photographing anything from fashion to portraits; from still life to catalogue work. And I often work on location too. I love working with people, animals and I especially love to travel and work.

I've worked as a professional photographer for more than 20 years and I've seen the industry go through the transformation from film processing to what I use now - Nikon digital SLR cameras andhigh-quality thermal digital printers that I can bring on location. I run the business and I'm the main photographer. For some large events, I use a small team of trusted professional photographers who work with me on a regular basis.

I'd describe my style as documentary - I catch moments as they happen naturally - without any tricks. Creating timeless photos is my goal. I would like you to be able to look at your photos many yearsfrom now and recall all the emotions you felt on your wedding day without thinking "Oh gosh, this looks so 2015.!" My method is simple: I try to be as invisible as possible, find the right angle, wait for the right moment and shoot.

It goes with the turf of being a reportage wedding photographer. Shooting in this candid documentary style means that you not only need an eye for a good photograph, but you also have to have a kindof social sensitivity. In other words, the ability to pick up on when people that you are photographing are aware of you, or even perhaps uncomfortable that there's a camera in the room. Of course, all of this leads to photographs that show real moments of a wonderful day.
My name is Marianne Taylor and I love photographing people in love. I've created pictures for as long as I can remember, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of the joy that it brings me. Myphilosophy in life is that there is beauty to be found in everything and everyone, and that capturing and remembering those all important moments - whether big or small - is what adds some magic into life.
